Prepress
Prepress is the term coined the processes and procedures that occur between the creation of a print layout and final printing. The prepress procedure includes the manufacture of a printing plate with such machine as the DPX2 Polyester Platesetterand the DPX4 Polyester Platesetterutilize a different method to activate and stabilizer the plates produced. The DPX2 outputs plates 21.6" x 18.1" with automated plate punching and dual cassettes for quick change over of empty Premium High Definition Camera Film made of inexpensive polyester.
Mid-State Litho is now proud to offer the industry leading DPX4 Polyester Platesetter. The DPX4 outputs 29.5" x 26.7" polyester plates at any resolution between 1200 and 3000 dpi. The DPX-D is ideal for the 4-up market especially together with the imposition feature of ourXenith,Sierra, and SmartToolsworkflow. One media compartment for 61m of 0.2 polyester plate on 6 inch core and one 425-mm Bacher 2000 plate punch come as standard.
Supplies
Computer to Plate
The prepress department has a wide range of different supplies needed to maintain high quality work for the print shop toduplicate. Such supply as the GraphLine System & Tray cleaner for the DPX2 and DPX4 is a concentrated cleaning solution especially developed to loosen and dissolve chemical build-up and hard water spots. The chemical build up will create scratches on the plate surface during the wet development, when the polyester is at its most vulnerable state. The scratches will be processed and when on the press could potentially allow for ink coverage on those scratches.
When these scratches and hard water spots occur on your solid coverage plates,we offer Deletion and Addition Pens to fix these problems on the fly. In case you’re out of processor cleaner these deletion and addition pens are a life saver.
Proofing
Before you create a master, also known as a plate, you would proof the product you are creating for the customer. As a business you rely upon accuracy of the customer’s idea or initial product to be reproduced. To create such accuracy and consistency, good proofing abilities are critical to the survival of your customers return purchases. Mid-State Litho offers Canon ImagePROGRAF wide format printers for your initial proofing needs. Additionally for Epson 4800, 7800, and 9800 series printers wesellthe Maintenance Tankwhich is a user replaceable item.
