Wipes Cleaning, Cloths, and Cloth Pads
In a production scenario there is nothing more important than a safe work environment and reliable equipment. A supporting pillar of each of those things is a clean environment. Keeping the workplace clean is a matter of safety for those working there as well as for the recipients of everything produced. A clean workplace extends to all of the equipment that workers use to perform their tasks. Equipment can have special needs when it comes to cleanliness. Often because of the unique tasks that production machines perform they can sometimes need to have sensitive surfaces cleaned without scratching or leaving lint. There are also classes of cloths that have extremely tough fabrics that will hold up to rigorous abuse while cleaning hard or sometimes sharp surfaces
Choosing a proper wipe, cloth, or pad
The first thing you must consider is the application, more specifically, what are the special needs of the application. Will you be cleaning something very fragile? Will the surface be damaged by a rough surface? Is lint a factor? One more very important factor to consider is the frequency of the task. Wipes can be ordered in multiple sizes and can be ordered in bulk for high volume use. Some surfaces like lenses and mirrors require a very soft fabric that will not scratch. Lenses and mirrors also require that a cloth does not leave micro fibers behind that can distort light. Other surfaces like blankets in a printing press can be sensitive to lint but not easily scratched. For surfaces such as that you can use a lint free cloth to wipe blanket wash onto a blanket. Surfaces like outside covers of machines are built to be scratch resistant and can sometimes get quite dirty. For surfaces like that a regular strength rag or cloth will work perfectly.
